The University of Petroleum Resources Effurun (FUPRE) is now a University, as the Bill to establish it was signed into Law by the President. The path has been cleared for the Establishment of the University in the Niger Delta by this action. The New University, was Initially known as Petroleum Training Institute (PTI) but with this approval, FUPRE has become the first Nigerian Petroleum Engineering University.
