I know what's going through your mind as you are reading this post.  Why would he say I shouldn't be afraid of failure? Does he know what it means to fail?? I still say to you do not be afraid to fail. The fear to fail is worse than failure itself. So many people are really scared of failing,  what would people say if I fail??? But I say to you again don't be afraid to fail. People have huge dreams but some of which would not be implemented because of the fear of failure. Are you a worker with that perfect business idea but haven't started because you don't want to fail?? I say to you today rise and never be afraid of failing. Are you a student in anticipation of an examination which would change  your life for ever but afraid that you could fail and become a disappointment? Do not be scared The phobia of failure should never stop you. Great men in our world today actually tried and failed in their life time. The likes of Abraham Lincoln, Thomas Edison, Nigerian Nob

Senate Suspends Move To Make JAMB Result Valid For 3 Years

Report has emerged that the Senate has suspended the move to amend the Act establishing the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB). With this development, the extension of JAMB result validity has also been put on hold. This was disclosed by the spokesperson of the board, Dr. Fabian Benjamin. According to him, the Chairman, Senate Committee on Basic and Secondary Education, Aliyu Wamakko, represented by Senator Ajayi Boroffice, announced this during an oversight visit to its Headquarters. It was learnt that the Senate has suspended the idea to allow for adequate consultation with experts and to ensure that the progress being made by JAMB in the conduct of examination is not impeded. “Your JAMB result is only valid for one year and we thought it would be better for it to be valid for at least three years. Following the death of Lawal Anuwal Kontagora, who came to Nigeria only for the compulsory one year service in the National Youth Service Corp(NYSC),Senator Shehu Sani (APC-Kaduna Central)has called on the Federal government to make NYSC voluntary or provide life insurance cover for members. He made this call while speaking to newsmen when he paid a condolence visit to the family of the deceased.He added that things like this always happens. Hmmm!! UNIZIK Notice To Admission Screening Candidates

This is to further inform all candidates who have registered online for the UNIZIK admission process that there will not be any other screening test before admission. The procedure adopted for this year's 2016/2017 academic year is that immediately after the online registration the University Admission Committee will meet to select successful candidates based on their score in JAMB and WASCE / GCE /NECO as may be applicable. Therefore Candidates and their Parents/Guardians are by this release advised to exercise patience for the admission list which will be released as soon as the necessary processes are completed. It is also important to emphasize that UNIZIK admission is based on merit. Do not become a prey to fraudsters who are promising assistance to candidates. Such promises will be in vain. UNILORIN to admit 11,000 out of 103,238 applicants – Vice Chancellor

Out of 103,238 applicants, comprising 21,082 males and 52,156 females seeking for admission into the University of Ilorin for next session, only 11,000 would be admitted, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abdulganiyu Ambali, has said. He stated that the institution was highly demanded by applicants even when some federal universities, according to him, had 148 admission seekers. Ambali spoke on Monday in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, during Unilorin’s 32nd convocation media briefing. He added that it was more committed to meeting the rationale for the establishment of the university, as stated in the Third National Development Plan. The VC said 67 of 6,069 first degree graduands bagged first class. He added that 1,505 made second class upper division, 3,200, second class lower; 1,124, third class while 70 got pass. Ambali said, “ We received a letter to the effect that the Nigerian Army highest hierarchy has approved a collaborative programme leading to the award of a Master of Arts Degree

UNILAG rusticates 198 students, expels 125

Authorities of the University of Lagos have expelled 125 students and rusticated 198 others for various offences, including examination malpractices during last academic session. The lists of the affected students were published on the university’s website on Sunday. The institution’s Deputy Registrar (Information), Mr Toyin Adebule, confirmed the expulsion and estimation to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos yesterday. Adebule told NAN that the university “will soon publish and display the names and photographs of the students in the media’’. He said that the action was in line with the university’s zero tolerance on malpractices and other vices in campus. “Yes we have published some names on our website and these students will be punished in various degrees, depending on the severity. Last session, a number of students were caught in various forms of malpractices during their examinations. Some were found cheating during the examination with “micro sheets” while others were hi

The corpse of a 300 level student of Olabisi Onabanjo University who drowned in a river, has been found 5-days after he went missing. According to Amiloaded, the student identified as Abiodun odutemowo Idris popularly known as Zamani got drown into a river 5 days ago when he went for fishing @chips side. Some individuals who were aware of his disappearance searched for him on that fateful day to locate him but they could not find him. The search continued. JAMB scraps use of scratch cards

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has scrapped the use of scratch cards for any of its transactions and services, describing it as “archaic,” its Registrar/Chief Executive, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, has announced. He also demanded that the Federal Government should revert to the former system where serving vice-chancellors of universities were made chairmen of the Governing Board of JAMB. A statement issued by the spokesperson for JAMB, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, obtained by The PUNCH on Sunday, said Oloyede made the announcement in Abuja in a paper he delivered during a meeting of the Association of Vice-Chancellors of Nigerian Universities. According to him, JAMB would be using the platform of pin vending to check all forms of fraudulent practices which was prevalent with the use of scratch cards. “The decision is as a result of its consistent subjection to fraudulent practices, the use of scratch cards is archaic and it is the aim of JAMB to also promote accountability in line with

Senate extends validity of JAMB result

​ The Nigerian Senate  passed the amendment to the Joint Ad missions and Matriculation Board’s Act into law. In the amendm ent, the the Senate strengthened the Board to allow the results of students in the annual examination be valid for more than one year. This implies that JAMB result is expected to now be valid for more than a year. According to the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Tertiary Education and TETFund, Senator Jibrin Barau the amendments will further strengthen the Admissions Board in its responsibilities. Senate President Bukola Saraki, appreciated his distinguished colleagues for their work towards the passage of the bill commended that the new amendments will indeed bring financial relief to students as well as parents and reduce bottlenecks and corruption in the admission process.
